The parent to this plant is Magnolia x 'Susan' which was hybridized by William Kosar and Dr Francis de Vois at the US National Arboretum by crossing Mangolia liliiflora 'Nigra and Magnolia stellata 'Rosea'

It is named after his mother, Jerre. This selection leafs out as a bright pink red fading to a light green by mid summer. The secondary flush of growth returns to a bright pink red creating a dynamic contrast over the light green leaves. Fall colors are a bright oranges to fiery reds. Because
