Negli anni '80 erano ancora una piccola azienda a conduzione familiare con meno di dieci dipendenti. Tutto cambi nel 1986 quando fu acquistata da Luca Gargano, ex ambasciatore del marchio Saint James che all'epoca era ancora ventenne. Sotto la sua direzione, hanno selezionato i loro primi whisky single cask nel 1992 e il loro primo rum nel 1996.
